If you're here, it probably means that you're one of the sharp ones that noticed that the website is slightly different than it was the before. Why? Well, between one section that's given a "file not found" error for two years, a non-functional vote button, and a description of the author that almost qualifies as an historical document, I thought it could possibly be time for a change. If you feel lost in these new environs, fear not. If you remember the 1980's He-Man or have children you bought the toys for, you'll probably remember that every year or so, they released new versions of He-Man and Skeletor. It was basically the same figure, only it was named "Battle Armor" Skeletor, or "Thunder-Punch" He-Man. Well, you can think of the new site as "Battle Armor" Code Rage. It has all the goodness of the original Code Rage site arranged in basically the same way, but seems more metallic. There are, however, several significant new features that --if you want to continue the analogy-- you can think of as rotating chest panels or an ability to detonate small explosives. First of all, the daily comments now grace the top of the page. This isn't so much because they're so great, but rather I would like to occasionally do a comic that requires more backstory than can be legitimately placed in the panels. This way, you get that backstory before reading the comic. However, if you're the impatient sort that likes to forge onward without direction, the "Today's Comic" tab will take you straight to the latest comic, right past the comments. You're still only one click away. Second, on a related note, comments that directly relate to one's enjoyment of a comic will now be archived in the Comments section. They won't be on the same page as the archived comic because that would require more work than I'm willing to devote to this site. They will, however, be arranged by date in the Comments section which is one click away from the archived comic. Thirdly, I'm FINALLY giving credit where credit is due, and crediting my wife on the main page. I have this habit of running up to her on Tuesday and Friday evenings and saying "Oh no! I have to do a comic! What should it be about?" She's always ready with a suggestion. She's always there when I need her, wielding her imagination like a sledgehammer, smashing writer's blocks wherever they appear. Finally, as much as I would like to simply put the page on the server where it will function perfectly, experience has taught me that there's nothing the world likes better than the taste of shattered dreams. You'll probably notice some technical difficulties in the next few weeks. When you do, please email me at That's the new site in a nutshell. I hope you like it. -Matt Cochran |
